Shongololo is the indigenous name for the southern African millipede. In Latin, millipede means 'thousand feet.' Having so many feet makes for an interesting journey. At Shongololo Books, we specialise in coordinating the 'thousand steps' required to bring your book into the world, with impact and grace.

It was on South Africa's east coast, in a seaside village called Umhlanga, where I learned that shongololos can regenerate body parts that are lost or accidentally broken by fat toddler fingers.

But it's oftentimes those lost and broken bits that make the most interesting stories. The ones that most need to be written. And read.
